I like a zippy sauvignon blanc, but some are simply too acidic for me (and my stomach). This wine – a blend of fruit from Napa Valley and Lake County – from a venerable Rutherford producer strikes just the right balance.
The wine, which includes small amounts of semillon and muscat in the blend, displays bright flavors of pink grapefruit, lemon and honeydew melon with a touch of honeysuckle. The persistent finish has a slightly drying note, which leaves you reaching for more.
The wine is in an eye-catching package (which this photograph doesn’t properly capture), and there’s no capsule on top, which saves on waste.
Try the Honig sauvignon blanc, which sells for $24, with shellfish or sushi.
