It’s Bastille Day, and a good time to celebrate with this crisp, refreshing white from the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel renown. The wine – a blend of grenache blanc, marsanne, roussanne and viognier from the southern Rhône – offers flavors of white nectarine, Meyer lemon, a slight floral note and a persistent, slightly saline, finish.
This wine is widely available for around $10, although my local Trader Joe’s sells it for about $8. It’s a great value, suitable for every day – not just French holidays.
