Neither the calendar nor the weather says “spring,” but this rosé – the first 2021 from California that I’ve tasted – sure does. This blend of organically grown grenache, mourvèdre and malbec (the winery didn’t give percentages) is quite aromatic, with strawberry and apple peel notes. On the palate, it offers racy flavors of wild strawberry, cranberry and wet stone. It’s a super-refreshing rosé with just 12.3 percent alcohol. The price is right, too: $16.
